 Managing Editor, Rhodora
  
 The New England Botanical Club (NEBC), organized in 1895, is a non-profit organization that promotes botanical research on the flora of North America, especially in New England and adjacent regions. NEBC publishes the scientific journal Rhodora, holds monthly meetings during the academic year (usually at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts), maintains vascular and nonvascular herbaria, has a small library, and annually provides botanical research funds for graduate students and others. The Fernald Award is awarded each year for the best publication in Rhodora that makes use of herbarium specimens and/or involves fieldwork.
  
 Rhodora, which began publication in 1899, is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes scientific papers and notes relating to the systematics, floristics, ecology, evolution, biogeography, population genetics, paleobotany, and conservation biology of North America and floristically-related regions. Rhodora, published by Allen Press, is issued four times per year, typically totaling about 450 printed pages annually. For more information about NEBC or Rhodora, please visit www.rhodora.org.
  
 NEBC is seeking a part-time, professional Managing Editor for the journal Rhodora who will report to the Editor-in-Chief. This is a hands-on position that oversees the preparation of accepted manuscripts for submission to Allen Press.
  
 Duties:
  	Copy-edit accepted manuscripts and format for submission to Allen Press 	Prepare Table of Contents for each issue and Index for final issue per year 	Review proofs and communicate with authors during the copy-editing process 	Communicate promptly and effectively with the Editor-in-Chief and contacts at Allen Press 
  
 Required Qualifications:
  	Proficient with Microsoft Word and basic computer operations (email, file attachments, Dropbox, etc.) 	Skilled at writing, editing, and critical assessment 	Possess excellent organizational skills 	Be conversant in new technologies for publishing 
  
 Preferred Skills:
  	Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the botanical fields covered in the journal 	Copy editing software experience
