I would reccomend just a simple natural history. The definition of that
phrase is: the scientific study of animals or plants, especially as
concerned with observation rather than experiment.

This gives a broad interpretation and the general public typically thinks
of both biological and paleontological sciences when looking at natural
history in the sciences.
