 The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) at The University
of Michigan is seeking a * Collection Manager for the Museum of Zoology
(UMMZ) Insect Division *(https://lsa.umich.edu/ummz/insects.html), located
at the new state of the art Research Museums Center (RMC) in Ann Arbor,
Michigan.

The UMMZ Insect Collection is worldwide in its geographic scope and one of
the largest of its type, including more than 4.5 million prepared
specimens. The collection is particularly strong in North, Central and
South American diversity, with a taxonomic focus on Orthoptera that
comprises the second largest holdings in the western hemisphere (second
only to the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia), as well as the
Acari, which is one of the largest collections of mites and ticks in the
country. Historical collections date back to the early 20th Century and
include irreplaceable samples from North and Central America. Other large
collections, including synoptic holdings of taxa and/or geographic regions
(e.g., the Odonata), are also represented.

Vision Statement should describe the candidate’s motivation to become a
collection manager, their skills and experience, and their vision on the
roles and priorities of a world-class insect collection in the context of
