The U.S. Federal Collections Committee, a sessional committee of SPNHC actively is seeking members.
The goal of the committee is to work collaboratively to create equitable relationships with the federal agencies and the institutions curating the collections. The aim of these groups is similar, the best care and management of the collections Further we share similar constraints, financial and resource scarcity.
The committee will explore ways in which the Society (SPNHC) can collaborate with federal agencies to develop best practices procedures in the care of their collections, whether managed directly or by federal or non-federal institutions. Equally, the committee will consider issues such as terms and conditions for repository agreements; facilitate communication between federal and non-federal collections staff; and communicate with SPNHC membership. The committee aids in drafting SPNHC responses to call for public comment on policy issues.
As we are rebuilding this committee, we are open to adjustments in direction and focus. Anyone with any interest please contact me at jkrishna at nhmu.utah.edu<mailto:jkrishna at nhmu.utah.edu>

Best,
Janaki
