You are invited to this year’s Biodiversity Digitization Conference (BioDigiCon 2022)<https://www.idigbio.org/content/biodigicon-2022>, an all-virtual event hosted by iDigBio and scheduled for 27-29 September 2022.

Although the agenda is still in progress, this year’s conference will feature:

· a session focused on data quality issues and solutions organized by leaders from the world’s major aggregators, including GBIF, iDigBio, ALA, and CRIA,

· a 4-part series comparing and contrasting leading collections and data management systems (Arctos, Emu, Specify, and Symbiota) with time for your questions, and

· several lightning rounds featuring digitization tools and techniques.


Also included will be extended sessions on:

· image and data storage,

· digitization workflows using Symbiota software,

· issues related to the Digital Extended Specimen,

· methods dealing with biocultural issues and the use of Traditional Knowledge (TK) labels,

· an exploration of digitization sustainability strategies at the institutional level,

· consideration of current collaborations between GBIF, ALA, and iDigBio for aligning pipelines benefiting data mobilization, and

· reports from major digitization projects funded by the U.S National Science Foundation.


Lightning Talk Space is Limited:

We have issued an open call for 10-minute lightning round talks focused on novel or successful digitization techniques, data mobilization strategies, tools, protocols, workflows, and the like. These rounds are filling fast.
