Biology: Curator of the Willard Sherman Turrell Herbarium to maintain the
herbarium collection, provide management of specimen loans or exchanges,
prepare and maintain images of specimens for digital collections, seek
external funding for digital collections and other activities; coordinate
the specimen uses by faculty and students in teaching and research; train
and supervise student employees; and conduct public outreach involving
tours and plant identification.

The herbarium serves an integral role in the teaching and research missions
of the Department of Biology and the College of Arts and Science, serving
several faculty and numerous students each year. The specimens in the
facility serve as educational materials for classes, and as research
materials for faculty, students, and researchers at scientific institutions
around the globe.

Required: Master’s degree in botany, plant science, or closely related
field with two years of herbarium experience, or a bachelor’s degree in
botany, plant science, or closely related field and five years of herbarium
experience and the management of herbarium collections. Candidates must be
authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime and indefinite basis.
