Hi Marshall,

You should be OK to go back into formalin if desired - wait until the specimen has sunk in the formalin fluid. Was the snake injected in several places (depending on length) or is that the issue. Very important to ensure that the internal organs are well fixed.
Others may disagree but that’s my advice.
