Hi all,
I was contacted by someone who would like to donate their shell
collection to a museum. He claims that it has exact data on where and when
each specimen was collected, and that many were collected at marine
locations along the equator while he was working on oil rigs. I'm assuming
we are all drowning in donated shell collections and no one will be
interested, but I'm passing it along in case I'm wrong. He's in the US so
it's probably easiest for the collection to stay within the US to minimize
the chance of violating endangered species regulations about import/export.
Best,
Catherine
