Dear Colleagues:

iDigBio is pleased to announce that the Internet Archive has completed its most recent comprehensive crawl of iDigBio’s website and wiki, the result of which is available at: https://web.archive.org/web/20260423/idigbio.org.

As previously announced, iDigBio’s permanent home has transitioned to a new GBIF hosted portal at: https://idigbio.gbif.us<http://idigbio.gbif.us>, through which users can search GBIF data including all data aggregated by iDigBio, as well as keep up with iDigBio and GBIF news and activities. iDigBio’s legacy data portal (https://portal.idigbio.org/) will remain active and available for searching until 31 August 2026, although data ingestion into the iDigBio portal will cease on 01 May 2026.

Also mentioned in a previous update, the current iDigBio website will be taken offline as of 24 April 2026 and will be replaced with a simplified landing page, still accessible at https://idigbio.org, with links to:

iDigBio’s new GBIF hosted portal (https://idigbio.gbif.us),

the aforementioned iDigBio archive (https://web.archive.org/web/20260423/idigbio.org)
  *
iDigBio’s new Zoom events hub, including links to upcoming webinars and the Digital Data Conference (https://ufl.zoom.us/ze/hub/iDigBio), and
  *
the legacy iDigBio data portal (https://portal.idigbio.org/).

Two reminders: The last data ingestion into the current legacy iDigBio portal is scheduled for 01 May 2026, and the iDigBio IPT and all of its contents (including user accounts) have migrated to https://ipt.gbif.us/. If you have questions about the IPT or other ingestion processes, please contact Cat Chapman (caitlin.chapman at ufl.edu<mailto:caitlin.chapman at ufl.edu>).

iDigBio’s conversational data interface (iChatBio) will continue to be available at: https://ichatbio.org<https://ichatbio.org/>/.

We are also pleased to announce that our much-improved YouTube page, which hosts our webinar, event, and other recordings is now available: https://www.youtube.com/@iDigBio/. YouTube will also host all recordings from our upcoming webinars as well as the virtual Digital Data in Biodiversity Research conference (https://idigb.io/h), which is scheduled for 2-4 June 2026. Be sure to register!
