Hi All,

A very Happy New Year to the SPNHC community!

I am writing to ask if readers could let me know of any True's beaked whale Mesoplodon mirus calf specimens that are held in your (or others) collections?

The National Museum of Ireland - Natural History team collected some skeletal material from a stranding last year (calf and mother). The calf was very young and still suckling, and as it's so rare to have these offshore whales strand, we are interested to know how rare this calf specimen might be.

Best wishes,
Emma
