[Nhcoll-l] Where is Tsaulian?

Was looking at this as well. I think it's the eastern harbour of Tsushima Island, which would "more properly belong to Korea" in the Sea of Japan.

That is why Adams writes "at Tsaulian Harbour, which, although in the Sea of Japan,
more properly belongs to the Korea".

In Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist. Vol 3 Ser. 4 p. 234 in "On the Species of Veneridae found in Japan" Adams writes the locality as "Tsaulian, Tsus-Sima"

Puzzlingly, A map produced around that time that has similar transliteration into english has nothing that sounds like Tsaulian to me. https://www.themaphouse.com/artworks/131299-royal-geographical-society-rgs-tsushima-island-1863/
