Hi all,

I would just like this opportunity to thank Maryanne, on behalf of the
ACA, for being so giving of her time and expertise and to thank
Catherine for organizing this excellent discussion. It has been a very
interesting week and an extremely valuable example of how a Special
Interest Section can stimulate discussion on a topic.

Thanks also to Amy, Heather, Rod, Sylvia, Sara and Marcel (I don't think
I missed anyone- if so sorry) for insuring this remained a vibrant and
interesting discussion throughout the week.

Let's do this again sometime and hopefully this can be used as an
example for other SISes.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week-end!

Scott Goodine
ACA President & SISPA member

Hello Everyone,

Well it has been a week of very involved discussion, hasn't it?
I've enjoyed it thoroughly and I think I can see that I'm not the only
one both from the quality of responses and the off-hand comments
people have been making.

First of all, let us thank you Maryanne. You've been a great "guest
expert" on the list. You've been extremely generous in your
responses. Your commentary has been very insightful and always draws
us toward very specific examples and new sources for your Canadian
colleagues to follow up on. I think the success of this first
dialogue has been through the complementary perspective which you
bring to the discussion of archives.

Thanks too to all the SISPA members who posted questions and comments,
and for all your "juicy ideas" (to quote Maryanne). I think the
dialogue led us to see innumerable new directions for inquiry into
personal archives and for me that was one of the reasons for this type
of discussion. I think I can see papers developing out of some of
these threads at some point. Don't hold back, though, if you have an
idea or a question arising out of this week's discussion that hits you
in the coming days or weeks, do feel free to share it with the group.

You have my personal admiration

Catherine Hobbs
(SISPA Chair)
