In case the rest of you are having the same trouble I'm having with
getting number 1 (the URL John has given takes me to a blank page, and
when I "signed in" to Haworth Press, it will only allow me to get the
article if I pay $18): The print location of the article is: _Journal of
Internet Cataloging_ vol. 4, no. 1/2 (2001): 35-47.
Also I suggest getting Rebecca Dean's paper at:
http://www.oclc.org/research/projects/fast/international_auth200302.doc
This version uses American paragraphing conventions, while the version
John gives uses Italian paragraphing conventions. The American one is a
little easier to read. Rebecca's paper has also just appeared in
_Cataloging & Classification Quarterly_ vol. 39, no. 1/2 (2004): 331-352
[the second part of an issue on international authority control edited by
yours truly and Barbara Tillett].
