[SAC-FAST] [Fwd: Interest group charge draft]

I can understand Ed's point about the helpfulness of a focus on FAST. But
it seems to me that if the focus is to be on FAST, the group should remain
under the aegis of SAC. Jimmie is suggesting an IG under the aegis of
CCS. I can imagine the CCS board wondering if they would then get a
request for an AAT interest group, a MeSH interest group, etc. It seems
to me that for a CCS interest group, the focus should be broad enough to
incorporate people other than those already heavily involved in SAC, such
as those interested in faceting in RDA, those interested in creating
systems approaches that use facets, etc. I think that if the focus is to
remain on the development of FAST, then the group should remain a
subcommittee of SAC.

My 2 cents worth...
