Hi Ed,
I would have liked to meet at 6 also, but there is normally a reception in the exhibit hall during that time, and no meetings are scheduled between 5:15 and 7:30 to avoid any conflicts with it. Other ideas?
Thanks,
Jimmie

Hi Jimmie,
7:30 on Saturday is fine with me BUT... The FAST subcommittee used to meet on Fridays around 7:30. The problem with that time is people would try to fit in dinner before the meeting but their dinners often took longer than expected so people came late or skipped the meeting entirely. I would think we would do better if we met earlier (6:00?) to allow attendees to go dinner after the meeting.

Dear FAST Subcommittee:
The meeting scheduled for FAST at ALA Annual conflicts with the PreConference on Genre/Form which lasts until 5 PM, Friday, June 24. It may be possible to change the FAST meeting to later that day if the change is submitted very quickly, perhaps 7:30 PM. Would that change work well for you? Do you have other suggestions? My understanding is that the group will meet one last time as a Subcommittee in June.
I submitted the petition to form an Interest Group to the Cataloging and Classification Section Executive Committee after our meeting Jan. 7 and there was a discussion about revising the charge slightly, using "discuss" rather than "explore" in the first sentence.
There was also a discussion at the SAC Meeting Jan. 10 about revising the name by deleting the word "subject" or adding the term, "genre/form" to correspond better with the charge which extends beyond subjects to include genre/form terms. That would make the name, "Faceted Access Interest Group" or "Faceted Subject & Genre/Form Access Interest Group."
Please send comments on the schedule change as well as these name and charge revision ideas. Thanks and have a great day,
Jimmie
