[Tshwanelex-l] Dedicated user guide for tlTerm?

Hi Michael,

It's true the User Guide is a bit too TLex-slanted ... we have
considered doing a separate User Guide, but probably not in the
short term - the reason for this is that there is quite a lot of
overlap, as much of the functionality is present and either similar,
or the same, in both applications (e.g. replace-as-you-type, or the
user logon system, are basically the same) ... so this would create
a lot of extra work maintaining the redundant bits that are the same
(e.g. adding a paragraph, or fixing a typo etc. would have to be
done in multiple documents) - as it is, we already also maintain a
separate User Guide for tlDatabase, which also has overlapping
functionality, so doing a separate tlTerm one would mean maintaining
three User Guides in that way. Not the end of the world, of course,
but we need to be careful in how/where we manage/allocate our
limited resources. I agree the tlTerm aspects could use a bit
more/better attention, even as it is. We'll have a look through the
documentation again and give some thought as to whether it makes
more sense for us to make a separate tlTerm User Guide. In the
meantime please let me know if there are particular aspects of
tlTerm functionality you would like better documentation or more
clarity on and I will try assist where possible. (PS, happy birthday
:) ... am pleased you would consider our software as a 'birthday
present').

Kind regards,

 - David
