NOTICE: We fixed a Windows XP compatibility issue in the latest
release (v.1956) of TLex, tlTerm, tlCorpus, tlDatabase, tlReader.
However, we will probably begin phasing out XP support this year.
The main reason for us to phase out Windows XP support is that core
components we use (eg CEF3) no longer support XP, and it's becoming
problematic to support new Windows features (eg DPI scaling on
high-resolution laptops) while still maintaining XP compatibility as
a result.
Our present plan is that at some point this year we'll probably
produce (and make available online as long as possible) a 'final
working binary/installer release' for WinXP, then at that point
cease updating it or maintaining file format compatibility going
forward.) We'll attempt to maintain XP support as long as reasonably
possible.
Note we'll probably also likely begin phasing out our so-called
"old-DOM" "legacy" release this year also in a similar manner; it's
unfortunately costly to maintain, and fewer than 3% of our active
users are using it. We'd rather be focusing those development
resources on adding interesting new features for future releases.
Please contact us if this may create any major problems for you, or
if you need more explanation.
Side note, we're currently preparing some more exciting new
features; stay tuned.
