Dear All,

I am writing to say that as of a day ago only copy of of Nathaniel Mackey's
"Paracritical Hinge" is left at the Whitney Humanties Center and all ciopies of
his poetry collection, Splay Anthem, are gone. There is a copy of "Splay" that
one could read (but not check out) at the Beinecke. The discussion of these
books will be next Fri at 3 in Rm 116 of WHC.

Also, it turns out that for those who have access to Yale library databases that
2 Mackey poetry books are avilable online. Simply do a search for Mackey or
"Whatsaid Serif" or "School of Udhra" and you'll be able to find it.

And lastly, I wanted to pass on some information about the Literay
Theory/Cognitive Science reading group,a sister working group will often
overlapping concerns. Their first meeting is today (info below).

And don't forget the first big Beinecke reading of the year: Jihn Ashbery at 4
PM on Weds the 20th.

Until next week,
Richard Deming, Group Secretary

Dear colleagues,

Just a brief reminder of our session on Neuroimaging and Narrative,
tomorrow Friday 15 th September at 4:30 pm
in room 116 of the Whitney Humanities Center.

We'll have an introduction to neuroimaging (fMRI), by Robin Schafer (Yale
University School of Medicine
Magnetic Resonance Research Center, Department of Diagnostic Radiology) followed
by an open discussion around the question "how can neuroimaging help us
understand literature?

See you then, I hope you can all make it.

Isabel.
