Dear All--

just a reminder that because of the fact that today's classes follow a Monday
schedule we have postponed today's session of the Working Group until next
Friday. Next Friday we will of course discuss Tim Young's translation of
Cendrar's La prose du Transibérien. I have circulated Tom's text and
direceted people to an important pice by Marjorie Perloff on Cendrar's poem. If
you still needs these, they are obtainable at our archive:
http://beineckepoetry.wordpress.com/working-group-in-contemporary-poetry/wgcp-schedule-and-readings/

These are also available as hard copies at our mail slot in the office of the
Whitney Humanities Center. There one will also find Ron Padgett's translation
of the piece.

We should mention that Tim Young will be joining us to discuss the importance of
this seminal text--a watershed moment in the history of book arts.

I would also encourage people to check out the jazzy soundfile that Gabriele
Hayden circulated: I'll paste her note and links below.

Immediately after our session next week (Friday, 3-5 PM) we can head over to the
opening reception at the Beinecke for the exhibition "Metaphor Taking Shape:
Poetry, Art, and the Book" curated by Jae Rossman and Nancy Kuhl for which La
prose du Transibérien is a keystone. Information about this exciting
exhibition is available here:

Onward,
Richard Deming
