[WTI-trainee] 2023 Yale Biological and Biomedical Sciences Diversity and Inclusion Collective Awards

Dear *Colleagues*,

The *Yale Biological and Biomedical Sciences Diversity and Inclusion
Collective (YBDIC)* is recognizing *students*, *faculty* and *staff* who
embody our core values and demonstrate their commitment to *outreach*,
*engagement*, *empowerment*, and *advancement* of historically excluded,
marginalized, and disadvantaged individuals in the Biological and
Biomedical Sciences (BBS).

The goal of the *2023 YBDIC Awards* is to recognize individuals who go
beyond their responsibilities, expectations, and academics to serve and
improve our community. Awardees will be honored during our *YBDIC Spring
Luncheon* taking place Wednesday, May 10th from 12:00 PM - 02:00PM.

*Nomination Process*

Students, faculty and staff are eligible to be nominated to all awards,
with the exception of the YBDIC Faculty Mentor Award. *Award categories and
criteria are provided in the attached PDF*. The categories are as
follows: *Engagement
Award*, *Empowerment Award*, *Advancement Award*, *Outreach Award* and *Faculty
Mentor Award*. Nominees must be nominated by a BBS graduate student,
postdoc, affiliated faculty and/or staff. Self-nominations are accepted.
Nominators can nominate for more than one award. Self-nominees are unable
to self-nominate for more than one award. Please note current YBDIC
Leadership is not eligible for nomination. To nominate a student, faculty,
and/or staff member please provide the following information:

Email Address

Department/Program Affiliation

3. Nomination Letter (maximum 3 pages) that addresses the following
criteria:

Nature of your relationship with the nominee (if nominating someone else)

Statement addressing how the nominee meets the Award criteria (please
provide clear examples of how they demonstrate the qualities sought) and
highlight their most initiatives and/or contributions.


Nomination letters and information should be submitted electronically to
the following individuals: Paola Figueroa-Delgado,
paola.figueroa-delgado at yale.edu (YBDIC Director), and Dr. Anton Bennett,
anton.bennett at yale.edu (YBDIC Faculty Advisor) by *Friday, May 5th, 2023*
at *05:00 PM EST.*
