Biography of the artist

Prudence Whittlesey is a NYC and LA artist who has been painting for over three decades. She recently had a one-person show at the Higher Pictures Gallery in Brooklyn. Her work is included in many private collections. She received a 2020 artist’s grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation to advance her project titled Philosophy ReBound. In that project, Prudence engaged with 100 philosophers including Yale’s Dean Tamar Gendler and other Yale faculty. Prudence will adapt the unique studio protocol that she developed in Philosophy ReBound for her work at the Wu Tsai Institute as the inaugural artist-in-residence. Through direct interactions with faculty, her project, titled CounterIntelligence, will weave together researchers across disciplines.
