POST-DOCTORAL POSITION at YALE UNIVERSITY in TRANSLATIONAL NEUROIMAGING RESEARCH in BIPOLAR DISORDER

The Yale School of Medicine Mood Disorders Research Program, directed by Dr. Hilary Blumberg, is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position performing neuroimaging research in bipolar disorder (BD) using multimodality magnetic resonance (MRI, fMRI, MRS) and novel broadband near infrared spectroscopy (bNIRS) methods to assess regional brain functioning and metabolism. The postdoc will have a lead role in the highly collaborative multidisciplinary research performed in the context of a recently funded BD2 Discovery Grant based at Yale that will integrate genetic, molecular, and stem cell and organoid research on mitochondrial mechanisms and neuronal functioning, and that will also integrate research of collaborators of the broader BD2 research consortium with the overall goal of clinical translation. Imaging method expert mentoring will be available through faculty of Yale’s Magnetic Resonance Research Center, Yale’s fNIRS Laboratory led by Dr. Joy Hirsch, and University of College London’s Biomedical Optics Research Laboratory led by Dr. Ilias Tachtsidis. Postdoctoral candidates must have an MD or a PhD in a relevant research field. The ideal candidate will have substantial neuroimaging experience, a translational research background and outstanding collaborative research skills. The initial term will be one-year, with possibilities for renewal for additional years. Please email a CV, a cover letter with a brief statement of research interests, and names of two research supervisors willing to provide references to Dr. Hilary Blumberg at hilary.blumberg at yale.edu<mailto:hilary.blumberg at yale.edu>
