Subject: Upcoming Webinar on 8/29 1 PM EST – NIH MOSAIC K99 Program to Promote Faculty Diversity – Please Spread the Word
Dear Dr. Guerrero-Medina,
We are writing to let you know about an upcoming webinar<https://loop.nigms.nih.gov/2024/07/new-mosaic-funding-opportunities-and-upcoming-webinar/> on Thursday, August 29 at 1 PM ET for the NIH MOSAIC Program to promote faculty diversity<https://www.nigms.nih.gov/training/careerdev/Pages/MOSAIC.aspx>, and to ask for your help in spreading the word to postdocs who would be interested, for example postdocs at your institution including those affiliated with the IPERT award.
The MOSAIC program<https://www.nigms.nih.gov/training/careerdev/Pages/MOSAIC.aspx> is designed to facilitate the transition of promising postdoctoral researchers from diverse backgrounds into independent, research-intensive faculty careers. The program has two components: an individual career transition award for postdoctoral scholars (K99/R00) and a research education cooperative agreement (UE5) awarded to organizations to provide these scholars with additional mentoring, networking and professional development activities to support their transition to and success in independent faculty careers. The MOSAIC K99/R00<https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-24-225.html> program supports researchers who have demonstrated meaningful contributions and proposed compelling future plans to promote broad participation in the biomedical research workforce.
NIH accepts applications for the MOSAIC K99/R00 award three times per year<https://grants.nih.gov/grants/how-to-apply-application-guide/due-dates-and-submission-policies/due-dates.htm>, and the next application receipt date is October 12. Please note, the MOSAIC K99/R00 award is limited to US Citizens and Permanent Residents.
Again, the informational webinar will be on Thursday, August 29 at 1 PM ET. You can read more about the MOSAIC program and find log in information in a recent post on the NIGMS Feedback Loop Blog<https://loop.nigms.nih.gov/2024/07/new-mosaic-funding-opportunities-and-upcoming-webinar/>, as well as answers see answers to Frequently Asked Questions<https://www.nigms.nih.gov/training/careerdev/Pages/Answers-to-Frequently-Asked-Questions-About-the-NIH-MOSAIC-Program.aspx>. We plan to post the slides and video on the MOSAIC website<https://www.nigms.nih.gov/training/careerdev/Pages/MOSAIC.aspx> shortly after the webinar.
Please share information about the MOSAIC Postdoctoral Career Transition Award<https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-24-225.html> and webinar with current postdocs at your institution. We are happy to answer any questions you have.
Thank you!
