Science Cafe (April 14th) - Volunteers/Speakers Needed



Greetings,


We are *looking for volunteers and speakers* for this semester's iteration
of the *OpenLabs Science Café* to be held on *April 14th at the Marsh
Auditorium/Atrium in YSB*. The event is open to local students and their
family members and is typically attended by ~200 people. Attendees get to
participate in *multiple hands-on science demonstrations* while interacting
with our volunteers before moving into the auditorium for our *science
talks*.


*For potential volunteers:*

Our volunteers will help us run the event smoothly by assisting in setting
up and running our demonstrations while interacting with attendees. The
following roles are available and will be assigned at our volunteer meeting
on April 10th: set up (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM), run event (1:30 PM - 3:00 PM),
and clean up (3:00 PM - 4:30 PM).

*For potential speakers:*

Our speakers are the main event. We are looking for three speakers who are
able to engage our audiences with their science. The format is a 15-minute
talk and a 5-minute Q&A session. Any topic of interest within STEM can be
proposed, including speaking about your own research. This is a great
opportunity for those interested in science communication. Options for
audition times are available for April 3rd, 4th and 5th from 5:00 PM-6:30
PM.
