In addition, the Biology Department maintains a robust federal funding portfolio from NIH and NSF with multiple programs that range from individual grants to multidisciplinary research centers currently reaching millions in funding. Several very successful research training grants for undergraduate and graduate students are led by researchers within our department that supply significant numbers of URM scientists from different disciplines to the biomedical workforce. Our Biology Department is very proud of our alumni that through rigorous scientific training and outstanding mentoring continue toward successful careers in health-related professions and biomedical research.
