Subject: [Neuroscience] Registration deadline for the Kavli Postdoc Series, The Chalk Talk, Oct 17th
To all Yale postdocs and ARS in the neurosciences (any department affiliation),

This is a friendly reminder that you are invited to attend a Kavli Postdoc Series event on the Chalk Talk on Thursday, October 17th, from 1:30-6:30 pm, at 100 College St, room 180. Participants will learn about -and practice- the chalk talk (see flyer attached). Susumu Tomita will give a short intro on what to do and not to do during a chalk talk, and Heather Snell will do a chalk talk demo. The agenda is available on the Kavli website<https://medicine.yale.edu/kavli/events/#event-kavli-postdoc-series-the-chalk-talk-2024>.

Postdocs/ARS: you are invited to both attend the event and practice your chalk talk. The registration link includes an option to indicate if you wish to present or not. There are still a few practice slots available. If you don’t present, you can attend your peers’ presentations.
Faculty members: you are invited to attend to ask questions during the demo and give feedback during the practice sessions. Please let me know if you can participate – that would help tremendously.

Registration is required and attendance is limited. Register now at this link<https://yalesurvey.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8ljBxV6hLuQw2rk>! The registration deadline has been extended to Sunday, October 13th.

The Kavli Postdoc Series is a series of professional development events that brings together Yale neuroscience postdoctoral fellows, regardless of their department affiliation, for scientific discussions, career development activities, and community building. The series, through hands-on workshops, aims to foster a sense of community and encourage peer support, accountability, and collaborations. Let me know if you have suggestions for future topics.

Best,
Pauline
