[WTI-trainee] Reviewers Needed for CT High School Science and Humanities Symposium

Hi WTI Trainees – see below for an opportunity to volunteer and support a statewide STEM initiative:

CT AHEC/UConn Health in Farmington will host the Connecticut High School Science and Humanities Symposium (CT HSSHS) on Saturday, February 28, 2026. You can read more about it at h.uconn.edu/ct-hsshs<http://robly2.uchc.edu/099779ac-fe5e-4cde-bd97-e6b9d09407ed46FAEAF4217AC22E57150593730246E2>.
For many years, Connecticut has hosted a regional event as part of the national Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) program. This year, federal funding for the JSHS national program has been suspended. CT AHEC/UConn Health will instead host its own statewide symposium for high school students. It will be nearly identical to the CT JSHS of years past, except the winners will not go on to compete at the national level.
We invite and encourage you to join the application review team. We are grateful for your time and expertise in support of CT’s high school students.

For now, we ask you to do two things:

  1.  Read the attached page about the online/self-paced review process in late December/early January and about the symposium in general. (Additional information about the symposium is here<http://h.uconn.edu/ct-hsshs>.)
  2.  If you are able to participate as a reviewer, kindly complete this volunteer interest form by December 13:  https://forms.gle/2TMfW2fvzNREEhFz5

Students: please note that because there is no longer federal funding for this symposium, we’re not sure of the amount of the small stipend that we can provide, but we will try to find funding for our student volunteers—we value your participation!

We hope to recruit a large enough team to make each reviewer’s load light.
