Announcing a new funding opportunity from The Kavli Foundation: Science and Society Sparks<https://kavlifoundation.smapply.org/prog/science_and_society_sparks/>.
Recognizing that swift changes and disruptions to the scientific enterprise are raising questions about the public’s connection to, trust in, and support of science, The Kavli Foundation’s Science and Society department invites requests for funding a) researchers’ time to participate in modest, virtual opportunities to learn about the relationship between society and scientists, research, evidence, and information or b) public engagement with science projects. Funding requests in the range of $5,000 - $50,000 will be considered. Awards are anticipated in fall of 2025.
Kavli Institute researchers are eligible for this call. Graduate students and postdocs are eligible. Please feel free to forward this opportunity to your Kavli Institute colleagues and consider applying.
The first phase of this call is an Expression of Interest due by Thursday, June 26th, 2025. Due to this rapid turnaround, the information requested is designed to be simple and quick to complete. A detailed description of this call, including where and how to submit is available here<https://kavlifoundation.smapply.org/prog/science_and_society_sparks/>.
All the best,
Science and Society
The Kavli Foundation
