*Talk Title: *Naturalistic visual search
I will describe recent work in my lab that looks at how visual search
unfolds over seconds or minutes in complex scenes and immersive 3D
environments. The results show that visual search is hierarchical and that
early subgoals use coarse, or proxy, information to rapidly narrow the
search space. The results highlight the integrated nature of memory and
perception in controlling attention.
