Science Cafe Spring 2026 - Searching for Speakers and Volunteers

Science Cafe for Spring 2026 will be held on *Sunday, **April 26th from 2-4
pm at The Anlyan Center (TAC)*. This *event is for local elementary and
middle school students and their families* to come to campus and learn
about science. The first part of the event will involve *science demos* and
the second part will be *a series of talks. *This is an excellent
opportunity for those interested in science communication as our event is
typically attended by ~200 people.

*For interested volunteers:*
We *need volunteers to help set up, run demos, and interact with students *for
the event. Specific roles will be assigned during at our Zoom volunteer
meeting on 4/20 at 5 pm. You do *not* need to have any prior training -
just a love of science outreach and science communication! Signups are here

*For interested speakers*:
The talks are *15 minutes long followed by a 5-minute Q&A* session. The
talk can cover any topic of your choice; people frequently choose to
present on their own research, but you can choose anything you'd like.
Please keep in mind the audience age (4th-8th grade) as you think about
your talk. Examples from previous semesters can be found on our YouTube
