Please join us for a reading by poet Peter Gizzi on Wednesday, October 
26th, at 4:00 pm at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, 121 Wall 
Street. A reception will follow; this event is free and open to the public.

Peter Gizzi is the author of poetry collections including Some Values of 
Landscape and Weather (Wesleyan, 2003), Artificial Heart (Burning Deck, 
1998), Periplum (Avec, 1992), and several limited and special edition 
chapbooks. He is the editor of Exact Change Yearbook and The House That 
Jack Built: The Collected Lectures of Jack Spicer and was the editor of the 
literary journal o-blek: a journal of language arts. He has been awarded 
grants from The Fund for Poetry, the Rex Foundation, the Howard Foundation, 
and the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts. In 1994, he received 
the prestigious Lavan Younger Poet Award from the Academy of American 
Poets. He was awarded a 2005 Guggenheim Fellowship from John Simon 
Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. He is currently a professor of English at 
the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
