Young Authors @ Labyrinth:
Robert Westfield -- Suspension
Tuesday, December 5 at 5.30PM

Please join us for a reading, discussion, and glass of wine.
“Just in case anyone was worried about where the new novelists were
going to come from...here’s Robert Westfield, with a beauty of a book
that delves with almost frightening acuity into culture, sexual
identity, and violence on both personal and global levels, among
other vitally important matters.” -- Michael Cunningham, Pulitzer
Prize-winning author

Suspension is a dazzling, remarkably original dark comedy about a
young New Yorker’s failed attempts to isolate himself in a city that
won’t take solitude for an answer. Equal parts noir, French farce,
and homage to New York, Suspension is a surprisingly heartfelt novel
about learning to live in a world where nearly everything is decided
behind our backs.

Robert Westfield is a graduate of Columbia University. He was the
writer-in-residence for The Working Group and a dramaturge on Marc
Wolf’s award-winning solo play, Another American: Asking and Telling.
Suspension is his first novel. He currently lives in upper Manhattan
where he is at work on his next novel and a new play.
