The Connecticut Youth Poetry Slam Team will perform at Atticus Bookstore
and Cafe in New Haven this Friday at 7 p.m. The free event is part of the
bookstore's National Poetry Month series, which also includes free Chabaso
bread for anyone who comes into the bookstore and reads a poem aloud
Fridays in April. The slam event is also a fundraiser for the team, which
will be going to California this summer to compete. Atticus and Chabaso
Bakery will match funds donated to the team at Friday's event. Atticus
Bookstore, 1082 Chapel St. , New Haven , is open Fridays between 8 a.m. and
10 p.m. (203) 776-4040.
