[cid:7.0.1.0.2.20100406115508.023dacb0 at yale.edu.2]<http://english.commons.yale.edu/events/files/2010/03/Mendelsohn.jpg>Jane Mendelsohn is the author of three novels: I Was Amelia Earhart, Innocence, and the forthcoming American Music (Knopf, June).  I was Amelia Earhart was a New York Times Bestseller and has been translated into many languages.  Ms. Mendelsohn graduated from Yale College in 1987, and attended Yale Law School for one year before leaving to write book reviews and fiction.  Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The New York Times Book Review, The London Review of Books, The Guardian, and The Yale Review.   She lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters.

[cid:7.0.1.0.2.20100406115508.023dacb0 at yale.edu.3]<http://english.commons.yale.edu/events/?attachment_id=35>Mark Oppenheimer graduated from Yale College in 1996 and received his PhD in Religious Studies in 2003.  Mark writes for the New York Times Magazine, Mother Jones, Slate, the Forward, and Tablet. He teaches English and political science at Yale, where he is the director of the Yale Journalism Initiative.
