Poetry Reading and Book Signing at LAA

Mary Vallas Posner, Ph.D., author of "Basil, Mountain Laurel and Jazz, Book of Poetry" will give a reading of her new book at Lyme Art Association on Sunday, March 14 from 2 - 4pm.
"Poetry, for me, both personally, and as an educator and poet, is always the experiences of a life and an awareness of the impact they have on it. This is followed by the enrichment and puzzle that knowledge brings while one is striving to enlarge upon it," says Posner.
Posner has given numerous readings in book shops, senior citizens centers, museums, individual homes, and work places. She finds that readings in art galleries "heighten sensitivity as listeners are surrounded by the visual arts and live music."
The Niantic resident is the author of four chapbooks, numerous published poems, and "Basil, Mountain Laurel and Jazz, Book of Poetry," published in November 2009 by Little Red Tree Publishing.
The poetry reading will take place from 2 - 3pm. A book signing and reception will follow from 3 - 4pm in the LAA's Goodman Gallery.
