FIRST PERSON SINGULAR

An Evening of Personal Prose

Thursday, March 4, at 6:00 p.m.
New Haven Free Public Library
(on the Green at 133 Elm St.)

Anne Fadiman, the Francis Writer-in-Residence at Yale, will be joined by
three of her students to celebrate a genre that is sometimes
narcissistic but never dull: the personal essay.

* Cory Finley '11 on being 6' 5"
* Kate Lund '12 on growing up with a gay father
* Victor Zapana '11 on his father's deployments in Iraq
* Anne Fadiman will read two excerpts, one from an essay-in-progress on
her relationship with wine, and one from an essay by her father on the
same subject

Co-sponsored by the New Haven Free Public Library and the Yale College
Dean's Office
