Fiction writer Sarah Gardner Borden and poet William Trowbridge read from their work at Southern Connecticut State University Wednesday, October 19th at 8 p.m. in Engleman Hall D253. Please join us to welcome back one of our own and to welcome an outstanding poet!



Sarah Gardner Borden is the author of the novel, Games to Play After Dark, just out on Vintage. She received her MA in English from SCSU and her MFA from Warren Wilson. Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in a variety of journals, including Open City, Willow Springs, the Chicago Reader, Other Voices, Literary Mama, and The New Haven Review. While at Southern, she was a finalist in the AWP's Intro Awards' Contest.



William Trowbridge’s latest poetry collection, Ship of Fool, came out in February from Red Hen Press. One of the poems in it, “Roll Out the Fool,” will be in the 2012 Pushcart  Prize anthology.  His other collections are The Complete Book of Kong, Flickers, O Paradise, and Enter Dark Stranger. His poems have also appeared in over 30 anthologies and textbooks, as well as on The Writer’s Almanac  and in such periodicals as The Gettysburg Review, The Iowa Review, The Georgia Review, Poetry, Boulevard, Green Mountains Review and New Letters.  He lives in the Kansas City area and teaches in the University of Nebraska low-residency MFA in writing program.
