Wed Apr 4 15:01:59 EDT 2012
Reading by Joe Hall and Julie Choffel, with music by DJ Shaki.
7:00 pm at Intercambio, 756 Chapel St., New Haven
Join us for readings by two stellar poets, a killer DJ set (or two), and cheap refreshments. We'll get started at 7 and wrap things up around 10. (We're going to do this in a more timely fashion than the last one.)
Joe Hall was born in the woods and is devoted to Cheryl. Black Ocean Press published his first book of poems, Pigafetta Is My Wife, in 2010. With Chad Hardy he wrote The Container Store Vol. I (SpringGun 2012). His poems, fiction, book reviews, and essays have appeared in Gulf Coast, Octopus, HTMLGiant, The Colorado Review, and elsewhere.

Julie Choffel's poems have appeared in Mrs. Maybe, Make/shift, and Caketrain, among other places, and her first book, The Hello Delay, was just released through the Poets Out Loud series. Julie has lived in Austin, Texas; Amherst, Massachusetts; Oakland, California; and lately, Storrs, Connecticut. Among those places and others, she held jobs in movie concessions, telemarketing, floral design, plantlife field survey, backpacking and climbing instruction, learning disability services, and data entry. These days, she mostly wants to hang out with her tiny daughter thinking about one phrase at a time.
