Dear Literature Lovers of Yale Divinity,
If you didn't know it already, the fabulous, bookish students of the Yale ISM religion and literature program have put together a brand new literary journal. It's called, Letters: A Journal of Literature and Spirituality. Our inaugural issue is launching this Wednesday and we are celebrating with sherry, readings, and the selling of books by our contributors. See event details below:
WHEN: Wednesday, April 3rd, from 5pm-5:45pm (plenty of time to run over to Berkeley!)
WHERE: YDS @ the Sarah Smith Gallery (the long hall between reception and the mailboxes) + the YDS Bookstore
WHAT: Sherry! beginning at 5pm and readings beginning around 5:20pm in the bookstore. Nate Klug will be reading his poem, "Spofford Lake Notebook," which will be included in Issue I of Letters. Christina Baik and Mark Koyama will be reading two other poems on behalf of our Issue I contributors. It's going to be grand.
The YDS Student Book Supply will also be selling books by several of our Issue I contributors.
ALL are welcome.
If you are curious (you are!), Letters, Issue I contributors include: Christian Wiman, Anthony Opal, Steven Toussaint, Mark Powell, Steven Hobbs, Mary Jo Bang, Andrew Hudgins, Bryan Miller, Jackson Taylor, Dianne Bilyak in an interview with poet Paul Mariani, and, once again, our own Nate Klug.
Please visit lettersjournal.com<http://lettersjournal.com/> to learn more about what Letters is and hopes to be, like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter (@lettersjournal) to stay posted throughout the Letters launch week (more on that to come).
Sincerely,
The Letters Editors
