At this week's Fellows' Tea, Susan Howe, poet and recipient of the 2011 Bollingen Prize in American Poetry,  will give a gallery talk on a fragment of Sarah Pierpont Edwards's wedding dress, the subject of her  "Fragment of Sarah Pierpont Edwards's Wedding Dress,"  in Souls of the Labadie Tract (New Direction Books, 2007).   Both the dress fragment and Howe's working notebook are on display  in the current exhibition, By Hand: A Celebration of the Manuscript Collections of Yale's Beinecke Library.

April 22:  Nancy Kuhl (Curator of Poetry, Yale Collection of American Literature) on Ernest "Hem" Hemingway's postcards to Gertrude Stein
April 29:  George Miles (William Robertson Coe Curator, Yale Collection of Western Americana) on the surveying notes and map from the Lewis & Clark expedition
