THE POETRY INSTITUTE – NEW HAVEN
 Featuring
A Night of Poetry in Response to
Black Lives Matter Issues
Thursday, February 18, 2016
When is it time for poets to step forward
and take a stand on social issues?
Maybe that time is now.

A Few Notes about this Week’s Special Event:

Correction: The date of the event is actually February 18, 2016 (not 2015, as previously shown). Sorry for the mistake.

The Black Lives Matter movement raises important issues for everyone. This event will be the first time that Pi Poetry Reading Series focuses on a single issue.

For our open mic, readers are encouraged to deal with Black Lives Matter issues in their poems, but this is not required. People can read whatever they like. Open mic reading has a one poem limit of 4 minutes or less.

For this occasion, the open mic will follow the special event, rather than occurring first, as it usually does.
