[Yale-readings] Graduate Poets Reading Series: Nancy Kuhl, Dec. 8, 6:30pm, in LC 211

Dear colleagues:
The 2016-2017 season of the Yale Graduate Poets Reading Series commences on Thursday, December 8, at 6:30pm in Linsly-Chittenden Hall, Room 211, with a very special reading by Nancy Kuhl, esteemed poet and Beinecke curator. She will be sharing work from her exciting new collection Pine to Sound, about which Cole Swensen writes, "Kuhl exposes the intricacies of daily acts, events and sights, slowly extending them out beyond their own boundaries to where ghosts whisper into open mouths and the 'past is wild but almost / over.' This exceptional poet hits a new height with each new book, and the view from this one is great!" Kendra Urdang, an MSN Candidate at the Yale School of Nursing, will serve as Kuhl's opening act.
Nancy Kuhl is the author of three full-length poetry collections: Pine to Sound, Suspend, and The Wife of the Left Hand; and chapbooks including Little Winter Theater, The Nocturnal Factory, and In the Arbor.  In December 2016, Grenfell Press will publish a letter-press limited edition chapbook of her short-poem series, The Birds of the Year.
