Yale Playwrights festival—Sunday March 5th. Yale’s Off-Broadway Theater.
Friends! Neighbors! Colleagues! Playwrights! Peers!
Please join us in the Off-Broadway Theater for the
2023 Yale Playwrights Festival!
Sunday, March 5th
It’s time once again for us to support our peers and indulge our passion for the human revelation that is the play in progress! Nothing is quite so beautiful! We will be gathering at the Off-Broadway Theater on Sunday, March 5th, in a marathon of readings and discussions of new work! Your generosity, your dramaturgical acumen, your sense of comedy, and the radiance of your spirit are deeply necessary and richly welcome! There will be food hanging around the theater, as there always is or should be, and four luminous new, nascent works will be read and discussed:
10:30 am
Seeds by Awuor Onguru; directed by Semilore Ola
Mentors: Prof. Toni Dorfman, Edwin Sanchez
1:00 pm
Education by Chesed Chap; directed by Clara Yuste-Golob
Mentors: Prof. Margaret Spillane, Victor Cazares
3:30 pm
transubstantiation by Aster Aguilar; directed by Carson White
Mentors: Prof. Elise Morrison, Madeleine Olnek
8:00 pm
The Mourning Show by Hank Graham; directed by Alastair Rao
Mentors: Prof. Donald Margulies, Tim Sanford
Festival Producers: David DeRuiter, Olivia O’Connor
Theater takes a village; it is the word made flesh, and it requires, for its fullest realization, a body of witnesses! Please join us! We’re not starting til you get there!
