About Mina Loy Mina Loy (1882-1966) is an essential figure of the European and American modernist avant-garde. A groundbreaking writer of poetry, novels, essays, plays, and uncategorizable prose, she was also a fashion and lighting designer and an accomplished visual artist. As gallery agent for figures such as Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Giacometti, and Salvador Dal?, she was a significant conduit for art that traversed the Atlantic. Loy has been best known for the poetry she published in the little magazines of the late teens and early twenties. The Mina Loy Papers at the Beinecke Library have been digitized in their entirety; the collection can be viewed online here: Mina Loy Papers (YCAL MSS 6). A detailed description of the archive can be found online here: Guide to the Mina Loy Papers. Additional materials related to Mina Loy and her work can be found by searching Archives at Yale. Karla Kelsey is Professor of English and creative writing at Susquehanna University. Her recent books include Transcendental Factory: A Poet's Novel for Mina Loy and the poetry volumes On Certainty and Blood Feather. Sara Crangle is Professor of Modernism and the Avant-Garde in the School of Media, Arts and Humanities at Sussex University (UK). She is the editor of Stories and Essays of Mina Loy. Her two volume Anatomy of Mina Loy demonstrates how Loy's work propels a prescient, mystical feminist vision that aims to resituate marginalised subjects within modernist culture.
