Hi Folks,

David will kickoff the first YPNG of the summer this Friday.    He will
discuss his interpretation of the
main result in Van Vu’s (2007 Combinatorica) paper `Spectral norm of random
matrices’. The paper
gives a probabilistic upper bound for for the spectral norm of a random
symmetric matrix.

See you this Friday at 11am in the Stat's classroom.

As always we are looking for volunteers to talk. So if you are reading an
interesting paper, figured out
something in your research, or want to learn about a new topic let me
