I will be hosting a seminar presented by Dr. Jiansen Jiang, who has developed a new method for reducing noise generated by detergents and lipids around membrane proteins. This method can improve 3D classification and refinement for membrane protein structure by employing a unique filter in Fourier space, rather than traditional masking in real space. This seminar will be especially valuable for those working on membrane protein structure determination, but all are welcome to join.
