Dear NACO catalogers,
I've created a password-protected site for our NELINET training
manual. You can access the manual as the top link on this page:
http://www.library.yale.edu/cataloging/authorities/oclc.html
Or you can go there directly:
http://www.library.yale.edu/cataloging/authorities/private/NELINET061025.doc
Contact your NACO reviewer if you want the password.
IMPORTANT: Please note that our agreement with NELINET specifies that
we are NOT to share this document with anyone outside Yale. See below:
>NELINET grants permission for the Yale University Library to use the
>document "Using OCLC Connexion Client for NACO Work at Yale
>University" freely for the purposes of internal training at Yale.
>Distribution of the document outside of Yale, including posting on a
>website that is not restricted to the use of Yale staff, is
>prohibited. Any inquiries or requests for the document from any
>organization outside of Yale should be directed to NELINET.
I will be making revisions to the document as needed over time. [For
example, you all should have seen and followed the instructions in
Patricia Thurston's message about changing our OCLC export format
from MARC-8 to Unicode; at the time of the training we were still
using MARC-8. The manual needs to be revised. Right now the posted
manual is *exactly* the same as the one you received during training.]
