Steven, the answer to your question below on best practice was yes.

“I defer to Dorothy in whether the H. is considered an element of the name or a title, but the written out form is assumed to be Haji (meaning the person had made the pilgrimage to Mecca). In her AACR2 training by LC, the direct form reference always gave the Haji in written out form, and a direct form reference with the abbreviation for Haji was never made. This was not documented in the LCRI, as far as I know, & isn’t in LCPS either. Rick, could you ask the LC liaison whether this is still considered best practice with RDA authority records?”
