[Yale ArchivesSpace] Error using ArchivesSpace-Resolution Update

Hello,

This evening after 6pm EDT, Lyrasis will be refreshing our TEST instance from our PRODUCTION instance of ArchivesSpace. This is a first step to test a solution to the errors staff encountered last Thursday and Friday. In this specific case checking against the "state" of the data is critical in the resolution. A database refresh would not always be needed for a bug resolution.

The solution we will test employs a plugin to resequence an individual record at the time of use. Lyrasis is testing this on a local instance first (our data, not TEST or PROD), then they will apply to our TEST instance and YAMS will test to determine the viability of the solution.

More to come tomorrow on progress. The PROD and TEST instances will be briefly unavailable after 6pm this evening while the refresh is running.

There are 2 open problem reports regarding validation errors when attempting to modify archival object records in ArchivesSpace. The 2 reports document the same error message. This has been reported to Lyrasis and I have already started a discussion with them about resolution. YAMS does not have the complete details of the reason users are seeing these errors. We are gathering information about system activity and whether it is a factor or not. This does not mean staff can't or shouldn't use ArchivesSpace. We wanted to inform all staff that we are aware of an issue and working to resolve it. I will continue to prioritize a resolution with Lyrasis.
