[Yale ArchivesSpace] Upgrade to Production ArchivesSpace this Monday January 11

Hello,

Library IT and the Yale ASpace committee have set Monday January 11 as the date of the production upgrade to ASpace. This will upgrade ASpace from a very old version custom to Yale, to the latest core release of ASpace, version 1.4.2.

This upgrade has been completed twice at YUL on local DEV and TEST instances as preparation for the production run. Both Library IT and the ASpace committee have participated in these two upgrades to help eliminate any risks or unknown implementation issues. Although this isn't  significant amount of notice, the committee and staff have been eagerly anticipating this version of ASpace. It resolves several key issues in the client and also introduces more robust reporting. It is also beneficial to move into a core release of ASpace, as most community members are on this standard version. Some of you have already used the new version, when you tested the Lyrasis hosted instances of our ASpace database last November & December.

The upgrade will begin Monday at 10am. Library IT anticipates the upgrade will continue into the late afternoon. Please note that during this time, the Aeon-ASpace addon will not be available. This primarily impacts MSSA Aeon requests. We anticipate the interruption will be less than a day as noted.

If you need to use ASpace early in the morning on Monday, please save your work regularly. The system will be taken offline at 10am.
